Christine Tassan et les Imposteures : Entre Félix et Django
On July 26 at 7:30PM
Summer Evenings in the Park Festival
Manouche Jazz and Swing
Christine Tassan, guitar soloist, vocals; Martine Gaumond, violin, vocals; Lise-Anne Ross, rhythm guitar, vocals; Blanche Baillargeon, bass, vocals.
In their new show, Christine Tassan et les Imposteures bring together the finest pieces crafted by two great artists: Félix Leclerc and Django Reinhardt. With daring, skill and wit, these tireless explorers of manouche jazz combine the poetry of Felix and the swing of Django. The musical conversation they invent between the mythical Quebec singer-songwriter and the legendary manouche guitarist is an imaginary relation based on an actual friendship.
If it rains, the performance will take place inside the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre (514-630-1220).
Bring your own chair or rent one for $2 (proceeds go to The Friends of Stewart Hall).
Before each concert, a guide with specialized knowledge offers a tour of ongoing exhibitions.
6 p.m. – Starting from the hall in the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre
