2017 Cultural Rendez-Vous: Shared Cultures
May 27 to May 28, from 10:00AM to 5:00PM
As part of the celebrations surrounding the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation, the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre invites you to discover, through Shared Cultures, the range of cultures that make up Canada’s fascinating mosaic. To celebrate in style, there will be a wide range of cultural activities including dance and music performances, exhibitions, face painting and giant games for kids, demonstrations of skill, and art workshops for the whole family.
You’ll enjoy our country market with its variety of local products. Snacks, desserts and drinks will be available for sale at our café-terrace, with all proceeds to benefit Accapella Sounds Chorus.
Observe and take part in the installation of in situ artworks:
Artists Christopher Varady-Szabo and Jessica Vellenga invite participants to observe and even help them install their artworks. These works will be presented in Stewart Park as part of the celebrations surrounding the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation and the Geopoetics – The Lay of the Land exhibition.
Enjoy an ongoing exhibition:
While you’re at Stewart Hall, take advantage of ongoing exhibitions at the Art Gallery, the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre and Stewart Park.
Come and make a lantern inspired by the work of artist Nicole Dextras. You will be invited to light your lantern just before the Canada Day fireworks begin at Alexandre-Bourgeau Park, on Saturday, July 1.
Montreal Museums Day:
On Sunday, May 28, the Montreal Museums shuttle bus will take you to over thirty Montreal cultural venues, including Stewart Hall. Why not come to the Cultural Rendez-Vous?
