Chalets and Community Facilities Rental

The City makes certain halls and chalets available for hosting events such as meetings, receptions and social or sports activities.

 A 25% deposit is required to reserve a facility.

                   – Renting a room at the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre or at the Noël-Legault Centre: call 514-630-1220

Important:

  • Chalet reservations must be done at least 10 business days in advance
  • Additional fees may apply (janitorial, administrative, etc.)
  • Please consult the City of Pointe-Claire’s Room Reservation Policy for more information.

Note: With the exception of the Baie-de-Valois Nautical Centre, chalets are not available in June, July, August and September.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where will I pick up and drop off the key to access the chalet?
A key fob will be available for pick up at the reception desk located at the Bob-Birnie Arena (58  Maywood Avenue) from Monday to Sunday between 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Who can pick up the key fob?
The lessee can pick up the key with a proof of identification and a contract.
What is the key fob used for and how do I utilize it?
The key fob is used to open all locked doors and storage cabinets within the rental.  A swipe with the key fob is all that is required to gain access.
Is there an alarm system at certain facilities?

Yes, there is an alarm system at the chalet. The code to disarm the alarm is on the key fob  tag. The instructions to disarm the alarm are located next to the keypad at the chalet.

Follow the instructions below to access the chalet :

  • Swipe the key (FOB) across the scan located on the keypad and remove it.
  • Enter the code number followed by the # sign as indicated on the key tag.
  • This should disarm the system.
  • If the keypad continues to indicate a red light and not silence the alarm, repeat the process.
  • In the case where the system is not responding to the passcode, please call Inspection — Public Security at 514-630-1234.

Important: Upon your departure from the chalet, please reactivate the alarm system by entering the code number followed by the # sign. You will hear a countdown begin to give you time to exit the building.

Prior to exiting the premises, please ensure that:
– All windows and doors are locked;
– All electronic devices are turned off and left in the condition they were;
– All electronics are turned off, unplugged and put away in their designated area;
– All kitchen appliances are turned off;
– The alarm system is armed (see instructions in the section above).

 

Additional Information

Noise Noise (music) must be kept at a reasonable level until 11 p.m. and the building must be vacated by 12 a.m.
Terrace
Is it possible to use the terrace?
Certainly, you are able to use the terrace with your rental.
Furniture
Can the furniture (chairs and tables) be relocated to the terrace?
Under no circumstances can the furniture be relocated to the terrace or outside the facility.
BBQ
Can personal barbecues be used?
Yes, a personal BBQ may be used but solely on the stone portion located on the South East side by the water. (see diagram)
Smoking Smoking and electronic smoking is solely permitted 9 metres from the building.
Parking Should there be a lack of parking on site, there is additional parking East of the building (map).
No parking is permitted on the street.
Garbage disposal After your event, you must clean up the debris and bring it to the bins (recycling and garbage) located outside on the North East side of the building close to the external washrooms.  If the containers are overflowing, please leave the additional bag(s) next to the bins.

A janitorial fee has been charged in your contract for clean-up after your event.

Issues Call 514-630-1234 for any issues you may have regarding the space rental.  This number is for Public Security and the issue will be relayed to a person on-call from Recreation.
Alcohol Is an alcohol permit required?
A permit is required if alcohol is being sold. Please consult the following link further details: Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux.    
Inflatables Are inflatable installations permitted?
No. Inflatables are not allowed.
Wedding ceremonies Are wedding ceremonies permitted?
No. Wedding ceremonies cannot be held in the rentals.
 Candles Can we use candles?
No. Candles are not allowed in City premises.
 City employees Are there any city staff on-site?
There will be no city staff on-site. However, there is someone on-call should there be an issue. Please call Public Security at 514-630-1234.
TV remotes  Where are the remote controls located for the TV?
The TV remote is on the windowsill on the left side of the television as it is solar powered.
