Major construction sites in 2019

Once again this year, the City will continue to invest in renovating and maintaining municipal infrastructures at a substantial pace in order to guarantee that streets, sidewalks, and public utilities are in good condition for the next 50 years.

Charles and Maple Circle Avenues

Grant from the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l’Habitation of $220,490
A $1,888,000 investment
May to August 2019

Project description:

  • Replace the existing water main and sanitary sewer lines, residential lines and street lights
  • Add a storm sewer network
  • Remove the existing secondary drainage under driveways
  • Rebuild the roadway
  • Add a sidewalk (west side) and concrete gutter (east side) on Charles Avenue
  • Restore the site and street markings

Des Sources Boulevard south

Between de l’Église Avenue and du Bord-du-Lac-Lakeshore Road
A $932,550 investment
June 2020:  Second layer of asphalt
In partnership with the City of Dorval

Project description:

  • Reinforcing the road foundation
  • Reconstructing the roadway
  • Reconstructing the sidewalks
  • Reconstructing certain damaged sections of the sanitary and storm sewer lines

Sunnyside and Windward Avenues

Project description:

  • Replacing the existing water supply, storm sewer and sanitary sewer lines
  • Adding a storm sewer network on Sunnyside, south of Windward, and a section of Windward
  • Reconstructing the roadway
  • Reconstructing a sidewalk (west side) and adding a gutter (east side)

Vanguard Avenue

Grant from the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l’Habitation of $225,680
August to November 2019

Project description:

  • Replace the existing water main and sanitary sewer lines, residential services and street lights
  • Add a storm sewer network
  • Rebuild the roadway
  • Add a sidewalk (residential side) and concrete gutter (park side)
  • Asphalting and street markings including pedestrian crossings
