2019 International Fireball World Championship in Pointe-Claire

Pointe-Claire Mayor John Belvedere is pleased to welcome the 2019 Fireball World Championships to Pointe-Claire from August 20 to 30. This unique and spectacular event is organized by the Pointe-Claire Yacht Club.

The Fireball World Championships bring together leading sailing enthusiasts and professionals from around the world and are hosted by a different country each year. Participants from Pointe-Claire as well as from 10 different countries will take part in the event.

“It is an honour to have participants and their families and friends among us, and we extend a warm welcome to all,” Mayor Belvedere says. “We thank the Yacht Club for hosting this extraordinary championship that will liven up our city for over a week and wish the best of luck to all participants.”

Spectators will be able to watch the races from afar at Alexandre Bourgeau and Edgewater parks. It is recommended to bring binoculars.

On the program:

August 22 and 23, 1 p.m.: Races – North Americans

August 25, 26, 27, 29 and 30, 1 p.m.: Races –Fireball Worlds
