A Spring Break full of activities for everyone!

The City of Pointe-Claire offers a wide range of activities for all tastes and for the whole family during Spring Break, from March 2 to 10.

Stewart Hall Cultural Centre

Among the many activities that are organized is a series of events paying tribute to the colourful world of renowned painter Guido Molinari. Featured at the Stewart Hall Art Gallery is Spectres, an exhibition of interactive works inspired by the art of painting and art on the screen. The Art Gallery also presents Behind the Artist: The Studio, a cultural mediation project created with art classes from Lindsay Place High School. Both exhibitions are open every day from 1 to 5 p.m. until March 10. Families can put their dexterity and imagination to use in three art workshops: Hockey Puck with Logo, a drop-in workshop on Wednesday, March 6, from 1 to 4 p.m.; Drawing Machine on Thursday, March 7, from 1 to 3 p.m.; and Your Studio on Sunday, March 10, starting at 1:45 p.m. Passes are required for the workshops on March 7 and 10.

The Cultural Centre will also host musical performances for children: Percufolies – From Tribal Beats to Modern Rhythms, a percussion concert and a poetic tale featuring puppets, on Sunday, March 3 at 3 p.m.; Le grenier des Molinari on Tuesday, March 5 at 1 p.m.; and Drôles d’oiseaux on Sunday, March 10 at 3 p.m. Passes are required for this series of musical performances.

Central Library

The Library offers workshops for all ages. Story hours inspired by beach parties and fairy tales will be presented on Saturday, March 2, Sunday, March 3 and Thursday, March 7. On Monday, March 4 and Wednesday, March 6, the Library will host interdisciplinary activities combining science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (S.T.E.A.M.). Children can also play video games on Friday, March 8 and build a spinner using LEGO® blocks on Saturday, March 9. Families can relax with a movie and some popcorn on Monday, March 4 at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 5 at 10:30 a.m., and Friday, March 8 at 6:30 p.m. Children can also take part in free-play activities every day from March 1 to 10 during Library opening hours.

Bob-Birnie Arena

The following public skating times are available at the Bob-Birnie Arena for everyone to enjoy with their family and friends: Monday to Thursday, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:35 p.m.; Friday, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:25 p.m. and from 7 to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.; and Sunday, from 1 to 2:20 p.m. Public skating is free for Pointe-Claire residents when they show their MULTI Card.

Outdoors

Outdoor skating rinks will be open depending on weather conditions. Information about the status of the ice surfaces is updated daily on the City’s website. At Terra-Cotta Natural Park, you can also enjoy nature, watch the birds, and discover the interpretive panels along the various paths.

Aquatic Centre

The Aquatic Centre will offer more recreational swimming hours: Monday to Friday, from 2 to 4 p.m., in the 50-m 6-lane pool; and Tuesday and Friday, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., in the 25-yard pool. Recreational swimming on weekends is free for residents when they show their MULTI Card.
