Branch collection

The snow has melted, so let branch collection begin!

Due to the early snowmelt, the City can begin branch collection earlier than usual. Residents can put their branches out on their property now, while following these guidelines:

  • The cut end of the branches must be facing the street.
  • The branches must be 10 centimetres (4 inches) or less in diameter.
  • The maximum height of all branch piles must be 1.2 metres (4 feet).

It is no longer necessary to contact the City to ask for branches to be picked up, since a municipal truck will be circulating in all districts throughout the summer. Collection will be every three weeks or so.

If a contractor is hired to prune or fell a tree on your property, it is the contractor’s responsibility to collect the wood. Don’t forget to get the necessary permit before the contractor starts the work!
