Desjardins Pointe-Claire Half-Marathon – Nearly 2,700 athletes expected in the streets of Pointe-Claire this Sunday

The mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, Morris Trudeau, would like to remind everyone that the second edition of the Desjardins Pointe-Claire Half-Marathon will be held on Sunday, June 18.

“Residents are invited to cheer on the runners and take part in this festive sporting event organized for the whole family,” explains Mayor Trudeau.

The proceeds of the event will benefit the Alzheimer Society of Montréal and go toward funding various support programs for people living with the disease and their caregivers, family and friends.

With the starting and finish lines located in the Village, the event is an opportunity for everyone to visit the Village, go shopping, enjoy a coffee, relax on the waterfront, have a picnic in the park or sit back for a moment on a patio.

To ensure everyone’s safety, some streets will be closed to traffic between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Du Bord-du-Lac – Lakeshore Road between Pilon Avenue and Killarney Gardens, as well as on Cartier Avenue between Du Bord-du-Lac – Lakeshore Road and Marie-Anne Avenue.

“This is an opportunity to support a cause that is near and dear to us and have a great time with your family while discovering Pointe-Claire Village,” states Mayor Trudeau in conclusion.
