Easter: Schedule of municipal services

The City of Pointe-Claire would like to inform you that all City’s administrative departments will be closed from Friday, March 29 until Monday, April 1, inclusively. The Inspection – Public Security Department will remain open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you need to reach this department, you may contact them at 514-630-1234 or at secpub@pointe-claire.ca.

Here are the modified schedules for each municipal service:

Collections

Organic waste collection will continue on Monday, April 1, in sectors A and B.

Please note that the collection of recyclable materials will switch to its new schedule in April. Collections will now take place on Thursdays throughout the territory. The first collection will be on Thursday, April 4.

Aquatic Centre

The Aquatic Centre will operate under its regular schedule on Friday, March 29, Saturday March 30 and Sunday, March 31. On Monday, April 1, the facility will offer a modified schedule with public activities, but will close to the public as of 4:30 p.m. Please consult our Schedules and Facilities webpage for all the information.

Olive-Urquhart Sports Centre

The Olive-Urquhart Sports Centre will be closed on Friday, March 29 and Monday, April 1, but will remain open and operate under its regular schedule on Saturday, March 30, and Sunday March 31.

Bob-Birnie Arena

The Bob-Birnie Arena will be open on Friday, March 29, Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31, but please note that no public skating will be available on Saturday and Sunday as the arena will be hosting a hockey tournament. The facility will only be open for special public skating hours on Monday April 1.

Pointe-Claire Public Libraries

The Central Library and the Valois Branch will be closed on Friday, March 29, Sunday, March 31 and Monday, April 1 inclusively. Both libraries will be open on Saturday, March 30 and will operate under their regular schedules.

Stewart Hall Cultural Centre

The Stewart Hall Cultural Centre will be closed on Friday, March 29, Sunday, March 31 and Monday, April 1. The building will be open on Saturday, March 30 and will offer its regular programming.

Here are the current exhibitions:

  • The carefulness and the blade: This exhibition explores the act of harvesting, and the connection to the territory and the living it fosters. Offered until April 21.
  • Artist in residence Justine Skahan: In response to the exhibition The carefulness and the blade, she questions the social role that our yards and gardens can play in urban environments, and the importance of nature to our individual and collective psyche.
