Educational kits on the biodiversity of Terra-Cotta Natural Park

The City of Pointe-Claire is happy to offer residents, teachers and day camp counsellors educational kits specially designed for youth.. Available at the Central Library, these kits offer tools for discovering the rich biodiversity of Terra-Cotta Natural Park.

The themes presented are for various age groups: preschool (3 to 5 years old), elementary and high school. Thanks to these educational lits, participants carry out a guided scientific process in which they formulate a hypothesis, make observations and discuss their findings. The kits also offer suggestions for integrating and applying what the participants learned.

Procedure for borrowing the kits:

  • Go to the Central Library (100 Douglas-Shand Avenue)
  • Loan period: 21 days

  • Monarch butterflies: preschool, elementary and high school
  • Honeybees: preschool, elementary and high school
  • Birds: preschool, elementary and high school
  • Introduction to the forest: elementary

Recommended time of year for borrowing the kits:

  • Monarch butterflies: May 15 to September 15
  • Honeybees: May 15 to September 15
  • Birds: all year long
  • Introduction to the forest: May to October
