Felling of trees infested with the emerald ash borer in parks

As part of its strategy to fight the emerald ash borer and to preserve healthy trees, the City of Pointe-Claire will cut 16 ash trees infested with the emerald ash borer over the next few days. These infested ash trees are located in the Valois, Alexandre-Bourgeau and Terra-Cotta parks.

As part of the 2015–2022 strategy to fight the emerald ash borer, 325 ash trees are felled each year and 800 new trees are planted on public roads and in parks. The diversity of these new tree species will ensure the development of a healthier urban forest.

The new plantings are scheduled for fall 2020.
