First outrigger canoe race at the Pointe-Claire Canoe Kayak Club

The Pointe-Claire Canoe Kayak Club is proud to host the Club Outrigger Montréal/Montréal Outrigger Club (COMMOC) for the fourth annual OC Fall Classic, which will be held this Saturday, October 5, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The outrigger canoe is a special one-, two-, or six-person canoe equipped with a lateral support for stability.

For this closing race of the season, COMMOC teamed up with Mission Dragon Boat/Outrigger to provide an improved format for the event, with new distances, divisions and boats, including the paddleboard. This is the first series of races in Québec sanctioned by the Canadian Outrigger Racing Association (CORA).

Pointe-Claire citizens are invited to come and cheer on the participants while enjoying an exciting show from Grande-Anse Park, on the shores of Lake Saint-Louis. It is recommended to use binoculars.

On the program:

–              10 km OC1, OC2, OC6 (one-, two-, or six-person outrigger)

–              10 km surfski

–              10 km paddleboard
