Gilles Girouard appointed Director of Culture, Sports, Leisure and Community Development

The mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, John Belvedere, and the City Council members are pleased to announce the appointment of Gilles Girouard as Director of Culture, Sports, Leisure and Community Development for the City of Pointe-Claire.

Mr. Girouard, who has an MBA and a graduate certificate in sports management and is a chartered professional accountant, has worked for the City of Pointe-Claire for more than 16 years. His positions have included Section Manager, Coordinator, Planner – Recreation, and, most recently, Interim Director – Culture, Sports, Leisure and Community Development.

“Mr. Girouard’s experience in planning and administration, his expertise in sports management, facilities and municipal programs, and his knowledge of Pointe-Claire and the West Island make him an ideal candidate to contribute to the successful implementation of our current and future projects,” said Mayor Belvedere.

Mr. Girouard will oversee activity planning, operational and financial management, and investment projects aimed at optimizing our service offer in the areas of culture, sports, leisure and community development.

A resident of Pointe-Claire, Mr. Girouard is also involved in the community as treasurer of the West Island Palliative Care Residence Foundation.
