Grande-Anse Park Sailing Base

New storage system for boat masts

The mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, Morris Trudeau, is proud to announce that a new storage system for boat masts will be available beginning this summer to all recreational boaters who have reserved their place at the Grande-Anse Park Sailing Base.

“A practical, functional and discreet storage system will be set up near the facilities to meet the needs of all recreational boaters,” says Mayor Trudeau. “This is part of our commitment to consistently provide better services to our community while systematically improving all our public facilities.”

Already, nearly one month after the start of registration, over 50 residents have reserved their place in Valois Bay. Registration is currently underway for non-residents and will continue until April 8. If necessary, there will be a draw to assign the remaining places.

The planned new storage facilities will broaden the view of Lake Saint-Louis with the demolition of the outdated boathouse. The work for this will begin in May. The improvement work on the main building in 2017 will make it possible to build a new dedicated storage facility for recreational boaters during the operating season.

“By revitalizing Grande-Anse Park, we hope to promote and improve access to boating activities for Pointe-Claire residents,” says the mayor. “The new buoy arrangement for the wet mooring of boats in Valois Bay will be reviewed to improve navigation in accordance with Transport Canada requirements.”.
