July 26, 2021 – Provincial government update on the COVID-19 pandemic

Here is an update on recent decisions and actions by the Québec government in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Easing of health measures

Events 

Québec Premier François Legault announced further easing of health measures.

Beginning at midnight on August 1, events will be able to accommodate 15,000 people outdoors and 7,500 indoors.

Up to 500 spectators will be allowed in each separate section.

For seated events, such as concerts, plays or sports activities, the limit is 500 people per section outdoors and 250 indoors.

Places of worship

Up to 500 people will be allowed at an outdoor celebration and 250 at an indoor one.

Bars and restaurants

Bars, restaurants and microbreweries will be able to serve alcohol until 1 a.m. instead of midnight, but must close at 2 a.m.

Distancing measures and masking remain mandatory.
