May 1, 2020 – Message from the mayor – We’re here for you!

Dear Citizens,

I would like to thank you for your efforts over the past 7 weeks to limit the spread of COVID-19. Because of our collective discipline, the government has announced a gradual reopening of the economy and certain activities.

This is good news, even if the battle against COVID-19 is not yet won. Together, let’s continue to be cautious, limit our outings to the essentials, stay two metres apart, and wash our hands regularly.

At the City, essential services are being maintained at all times. You can contact our teams by e-mail and phone. In accordance with government guidelines to limit the spread of COVID-19, municipal buildings remain closed to the public, as do play structures in parks, sports fields and dog parks.

In order to maintain our service offer, we have adapted our programming to provide online activities. You can view exhibitions, do art workshops, borrow eBooks from the Library, listen to story time or work out from home.

We also continue to call over 500 Pointe-Claire seniors every day to see how they are doing and make sure they are healthy! To all the seniors who have expressed their appreciation, thank you.

Lastly, I invite you to continue to show solidarity by making local purchases in our grocery stores, restaurants, cafes, boutiques and retail businesses. You can also visit the Québec government’s Le Panier Bleu website.

I am counting on you and thank you for your life-saving sacrifices!

John Belvedere
Mayor of Pointe-Claire
