May 28 and 29 – Celtic culture honoured at the 2016 Cultural Rendez-Vous

The mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, Morris Trudeau, is pleased to invite residents to the Cultural Rendez-Vous, a yearly event taking place on May 28 and 29 at Pointe-Claire’s Cultural Centre, Stewart Hall. Celtic culture will be the focus of this year’s event.

“2016 marks the 100th anniversary of the construction of Mull Hall,” says Mayor Trudeau. “The building – Stewart Hall – houses the Cultural Centre, which is dedicated to arts and culture. At the Cultural Rendez-Vous, people can learn all about the origins and history of this magnificent building. It’s truly one of the gems of our architectural heritage.”

This year’s Cultural Rendez-Vous is a perfect time to explore the world of Celtic culture through music, dance, exhibitions, and workshops. A country market will offer local products, and a presentation on the origins of common Celtic family names, as well as a bagpipe exhibition will be sure to pique your interest.

Activities will be offered free of charge on Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre, 176 Du Bord-du-Lac – Lakeshore Road.

“We’re inviting everyone to join us, young and old,” concludes the mayor. “It’s a great activity for families – there are all kinds of cultural activities offered outdoors on these two days. It’s also an opportunity to learn about the history of our Cultural Centre and to discover the rich culture of Celtic countries.”

Complete program details will be available online on Wednesday, May 25.
