Mayor’s message – Let’s continue to be responsible and united

Dear Pointe-Claire citizen,

We are in the midst of an exceptional and unprecedented time on the planet. The efforts of each and every one of us are vital to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We are counting on you.

It is our shared responsibility to slow the spread of this global pandemic, in collaboration with government and public health authorities.

We must follow the instructions: wash our hands regularly, keep two metres apart during essential outings, and avoid gatherings or meetings with family and friends during this critical time. Let’s stay home.

Despite these isolating conditions, let’s stay close to one another and take care of ourselves and our loved ones. Let’s keep in touch with the people we care about. Let’s do it by phone and by video chat. Let’s make sure they feel safe and have everything they need. When help is needed, let’s keep two metres apart, because we love them and want to protect them.

Our joint efforts and our social responsibility will keep our community healthy and protect us all. These sacrifices are saving lives.

I also want to acknowledge the efforts of healthcare workers during this most serious public health crisis in history.

For our part, City Council, management and all of the City’s staff are constantly monitoring the situation to provide you with all the essential services and useful assistance you need.

We have set up a hotline to hear your concerns, answer your questions and direct you to the right resources. Call us Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at 514-630-1314.

You can contact the Montréal West Island IUHSSC every day between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. at 514-630-2123.

For more information, visit our coronavirus Web page, which is updated daily.

To all of you, hang in there and let’s keep our spirits up.

John Belvedere
Mayor of Pointe-Claire
