New grant program for reusable diapers, feminine hygiene products, and incontinence products

The mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, John Belvedere, is pleased to announce a new pilot project offering grants of up to $200 for the purchase of reusable diapers, feminine hygiene products, and incontinence products.

Always at the forefront, the City of Pointe-Claire is one of the first cities in Québec to offer grants for these three product categories.

“We care about sustainable development and we want to offer our residents even more concrete ways to help protect our planet by reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills,” stated Mayor Belvedere.

Washable diapers

The amount of the grant can reach up to $200 and covers washable diapers, washable swim diapers, waterproof bags, and fabric to make diapers. To obtain this grant, simply present the original bill from a purchase made less than six months ago and your child’s birth certificate.

Feminine hygiene and incontinence products

The amount of the grant can reach up to $100 and covers menstrual underwear and cups, washable sanitary napkins, reusable tampon applicators, washable underwear and liners for urinary leaks and incontinence, waterproof bags, and fabric to make underwear and liners for urinary leaks and incontinence. To obtain this grant, simply present the original bill from a purchase made less than three months ago.

The online form must be filled out and brought to the City Hall multiservice counter with your MULTI Card and the original bill, as well as your child’s birth certificate for washable diapers.

“This new initiative is part of our vision to make Pointe-Claire a city dedicated to sustainable development by encouraging practices that help protect our environment,” said Mayor Belvedere in conclusion.
