Pointe-Claire Aquatic Centre – 770 athletes expected at the annual swimming competition

From December 6 to 9, the City of Pointe-Claire will host the annual AA-AAA Provincial Invitational at the Aquatic Centre. 770 young athletes are expected to compete, including some 160 swimmers representing the Pointe-Claire Swim Club.

These athletes aged 11 and up from six different provinces are among the most accomplished in Canada. They will compete in individual and relay events in the four competitive swimming strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.

“We are proud to host this major annual competition that brings together talented young athletes who dedicate a lot of time and effort in their quest for excellence. We invite residents to cheer them on throughout this four-day competition,” stated the mayor of Pointe-Claire, John Belvedere.

The competition will begin on Thursday, December 6 at 5 p.m. Qualifying heats will take place Friday to Sunday starting at 9 a.m., and finals will start on 5 p.m. on the same days. Admission is free at all times.
