Québec’s National Holiday and Canada Day – municipal department schedule

The City of Pointe-Claire would like to inform you of the schedule for municipal services and activities on Québec’s National Holiday and Canada Day.

City Hall and municipal services

Administrative offices and municipal services will be closed on Friday, June 24 and Thursday, July 1. Bob-Birnie Arena, Pointe-Claire Public Library, Olive-Urquhart Sports Centre and Stewart Hall Cultural Centre will also be closed.

Inspection – Public Security Department

The Inspection – Public Security (ISP) Department remains open at all times (24/7) and can be reached at 514-630-1234 or secpub@pointe-claire.ca.

Aquatic Centre

The Aquatic Centre is open according to the regular schedule. Lap swim and family swim are available.

Splash pad

The splash pad in Valois Park is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Boat launching ramp

Please note that the boat launch ramp and parking lot at Alexandre-Bourgeau Park will not be accessible on June 24 and July 1 (or in case of rain, on June 25 and July 2).

Canada Day Celebrations: Closure of Cartier Avenue

Cartier Avenue will be closed to traffic on Friday, July 1 (or July 2 in case of rain) from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. from Lanthier Avenue to Du Bord-du-Lac ― Lakeshore Road for the Canada Day Celebrations. A detour will be available to road users via Lanthier and De Lourdes Avenues and Du Bord-du-Lac ― Lakeshore Road. Foot access to all businesses will be maintained.

Activities program

The City of Pointe-Claire invites the public to get together and celebrate Québec’s National Holiday and Canada Day. Alexandre-Bourgeau Park will be at the heart of the festivities, an opportunity to get together with family, friends and neighbours.

The program is intended for people of all ages. A wide range of entertaining and imaginative activities await young and old.
