Residents reach out to communities in need

Humanitarian relief for the Fort McMurray evacuees

The mayor of Pointe-Claire, Morris Trudeau, and members of City Council, have announced a donation of $31,900, equivalent to a dollar from each resident, to help the Fort McMurray evacuees.

“When disaster strikes, it is important to demonstrate solidarity. The people of Pointe-Claire never lose sight of the importance of offering support to those in need,” noted Mayor Trudeau.

This donation to the Canadian Red Cross goes to help the thousands of people who were forced to evacuate by the forest fires that devastated Alberta last month.

“We are very much with them in spirit,” said Mayor Trudeau, speaking for all the people of Pointe Claire.
