Road work on Cartier Avenue progressing

The City of Pointe-Claire would like to give an update regarding the road work on Cartier Avenue that has resumed and has been progressing at a rapid pace since December 4 in order for everything to be completed as soon as possible.

A new team resumed work in December, since the contractor could not complete the work in late November. Faced with this situation beyond the City’s control, the administration quickly called upon the bond company provided for in the contract in order for the work to resume as soon as possible, which has been accomplished.

The new contractor is completing work on the section of Cartier Avenue between Sainte-Claire and Salisbury Avenues. The sidewalks and curbs are complete, as well as paving work between Sainte-Claire and Horizon Avenues. The surface between Horizon and Salisbury Avenues has been prepared for a layer of pavement.

The next phases will consist of completing paving work between Horizon and Salisbury Avenues and installing signage.

With the holiday season approaching, we invite residents to support local merchants.

Thank you for your understanding.
