Sailing base at Grande-Anse Park

Mayor announces registration period for sailing facilities

The mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, Morris Trudeau, informs citizens of registration periods for 2016 at the Grande-Anse Park sailing base.

Registration priority is given to Pointe-Claire residents, who can register starting today and throughout the season. Non-residents will be able to register from March 29 to April 8, and if necessary, there will be a draw to assign residual places among them.

The sailing base provides amateurs of pleasure boating and nautical activities with a full range of services including wet mooring, a shuttle service, and self-service dry mooring rental spaces for sailboats, canoes, kayaks and catamarans.

As part of an ongoing process to improve public facilities, improvements will be made to the sailing base beginning this spring. The City will demolish the obsolete shed and redesign service docks. The possibility of renovating the main building and redesigning Grande-Anse Park will also be studied.

“In revitalizing Grande-Anse Park, we want to give priority to Pointe-Claire residents’ access to nautical activities,” says Mayor Trudeau. “New procedures for registration at the sailing base will favour residents, and services will be adjusted to suit their needs.”
