Tragedy in Nova Scotia – The City’s flags at half-mast in a show of solidarity

To express Pointe-Claire residents’ solidarity and compassion for the families and friends of the 22 victims of the shooting that occurred in Nova Scotia last weekend, the mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, John Belvedere, had the City’s flags lowered to half-mast at City Hall.

“This symbolic gesture shows our solidarity with all those directly or indirectly affected by this tragedy. Our thoughts are with them,” Mayor Belvedere said.

Due to the social distancing rules to limit the spread of COVID-19, families and friend cannot gather in person to honour the memory of the deceased. You are therefore invited to pay tribute to them by participating in the online vigil that will be broadcast on the Colchester–Supporting Our Communities Facebook page on Friday, April 24, at 7 p.m.
