In a convoy headed West with the hopes of a better life, Martha Jane’s father is injured. It’s up to her to drive the family wagon and care for the horses. The learning curve is steep, yet Martha Jane has never felt freer. She wears pants for horseback riding since it’s more convenient. However, Abraham, the leader of the convey, finds her too audacious. Accused of theft, Martha is forced to flee.
