Pascal Ottawa, known as Pako, is a singer-songwriter from the Atikamekw community of Manawan. On a solid and mastered folk-rock foundation, Pako sings the lyrics, he writes in Atikamekw, his native language. He sings about powerful subject matters such as the importance of language, and values, history of his community, identity, human relations, the environment and hope for a better life. Pako is a songwriter of profound words and a deep scratchy voice of a bluesman. Anchored in the present, his new album Nanto is oriented towards what is to come, like a ray of sunlight crossing the clearing of a dense forest.
