Andalusyria brings together two talented artists who have created an original repertoire at the crossroads of flamenco and Arabic traditions. Nazih Borish, a musician based in Montreal, is a self-taught oud virtuoso who founded his own music school in his hometown of Lattakia, Syria. Gabriel Evangelista, a Montrealer of Spanish origin, is a flamenco-jazz pianist. Both have developed their own musical language throughout their careers and are committed to this artistic encounter that links their cultural and personal horizons. The result: great poetry built on flights of improvised notes, unique from one performance to the next.
