The Memory of Water
Simon Bachand and Jasmin Guérard-Alie, Collectif ArtduCommun
Description
This mural highlights different visual representations of the history of Pointe-Claire through the integration of archival material on the theme of water, reflecting the building’s vocation and its surrounding environment. Serving as a unifying symbol of our collective memory, the omnipresence of Lake Saint-Louis further underlines the importance of water in the local history. The large abstract forms on every side of the building are evocative of windmill blades and produce a dynamic movement that prompts the viewer to walk around the work.
Take a behind-the-scenes look at how the mural was created by the ArtduCommun collective in this video.
