2021 Holiday schedule for municipal departments
Here is the Holiday schedule for municipal departments:
All of the City of Pointe-Claire’s administrative departments will be closed from Friday, December 24 to Tuesday, January 4 inclusive. The Inspection – Public Security Department (IPS) will remain open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and can be contacted at 514-630-1234 or secpub@pointe-claire.ca. Note that access to the Inspection – Public Security counter is closed to the public due to the measures in place to reduce the spread of the virus.
During the Holidays, we invite you to take advantage of the cultural and sports activities being offered.
Aquatic Centre
The Aquatic Centre will be closed from December 24 to 26 and from December 31 to January 2 inclusive. Additional time slots for family swimming have been added for the holiday period. See the schedule on the Aquatic Centre page.
You must make a reservation and present your vaccination passport to participate in an indoor activity. Reserve your place on LUDIK: ludik.pointe-claire.ca.
Bob-Birnie Arena
The Bob-Birnie Arena will be closed from December 24 to 26 and from December 31 to January 2 inclusive. Additional time slots have been added for public skating for the holiday period. See the schedule on the Bob-Birnie Arena page.

Skating rinks, cross-country ski and walking trails
Take advantage of the joys of winter on the two refrigerated skating rinks in Pointe-Claire Village and Valois Village. Depending on weather conditions, our Public Works teams will busy setting up the skating rinks in the parks and grooming the cross-country ski and walking trail at the Beaconsfield Golf Club. Follow the City’s Facebook page for the opening dates of these facilities.

Library
The Central Library and the Valois Branch will be closed from December 24 to 26 and from December 31 to January 2 inclusive.
At any time, you can take advantage of a wide range of digital resources on the Pointe-Claire Public Library portal.
Stewart Hall Cultural Centre
The Cultural Centre will be closed from December 24 to 26 and from December 31 to January 2 inclusive.
Take advantage of the Holidays to visit the following exhibitions:
- At the Kids’ Corner — the mini exhibition Christmas at Mull Hall
- On the 2nd floor — the exhibition Visions of Stewart Hall: 1885-1963 and the boutique
- At the Art Gallery – The 2022 Art Rental and Sales Service
Vaccination passport
The vaccination passport is still required for entering the Aquatic Centre and the Arena at each visit, and the Cultural Centre for certain activities, for everyone 13 years of age and over, and must be accompanied by photo ID for everyone 16 years of age and over.
Waste collection
Waste will be collected according to the regular calendar.
Sector A – Organic material will be collected on Monday, December 27 and Monday, January 3. Recyclables will be collected on Tuesday, December 28 and Tuesday, January 4. Household waste will be collected on Tuesday, January 4. Sector A includes the entire area west of Saint-Jean Boulevard and the entire area south of Highway 20.
Sector B – Organic material and recyclables will be collected on Monday, December 27 and Monday, January 3. Household waste will be collected on Tuesday, December 28. Sector B is the area east of Saint-Jean Boulevard and north of Highway 20.
Christmas tree collection
The collection of natural Christmas trees will take place on Wednesday, January 12, between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. For more information, visit the Christmas trees page.
