Association des communicateurs municipaux du Québec – New Pointe-Claire publications awarded at the Plumes d’excellence competition

The Mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, Morris Trudeau, is proud to announce that the City’s Communications Department was awarded the silver prize in the Plumes d’excellence competition, which it won for its redesign of publications for our fellow residents, from the Association des communicateurs municipaux du Québec (AMCQ).

“This recognition is all the more deserved given how strong the competition was. The Communications teams of the City of Montréal, Verdun Borough won the gold and the teams of the City of Saint-Jérôme won the bronze. Winning second place in the Plumes d’excellence shows the exceptional performance of our brand-new Communications Department and its young team members. Congratulations!” said Mayor Trudeau.

The City’s publications have been reviewed, rethought and renewed to optimize the quality and variety of information about our services, making them more appealing, more effective and even easier to use. These improvements are part of the City’s strategic plan and our sustainable development actions.

In the spring of 2016, the City redesigned three publications with the objective of improving the dissemination of municipal services and communications to residents, namely: the Leisure Guide, which details cultural, sports, recreational and community development programming; Cultural Notes, which is dedicated to exhibitions, concerts and shows; and Living in Pointe-Claire, which brings together information about municipal services, current projects and upcoming work.

Early this year, we enhanced our offerings with the Day Camp Guide, which features a colourful and comprehensive description of City camps to help parents make an enlightened decision for their children’s activities this summer.

This honour awarded to our Communications team will join the “Social Development” award won by the Leisure team for its Aid for Seniors Program at the Municipal Ovation Merit competition.

“We are proud to be recognized yet again for our efforts to improve the services offered by our City. We urge you to take a look at our publications so that you can enjoy the many activities on offer,” said Mayor Trudeau in conclusion.
