Attack in Nice

French flag at half-mast to show solidarity

In response to the terrorist attack on Nice during Bastille Day celebrations on July 14, the mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, Morris Trudeau, has put the French flag at half-mast as an expression of compassion and solidarity with victims and their families.

“This symbolic gesture expresses our solidarity with France,” says Mayor Trudeau. “We are saddened by this attack, and our thoughts are with all citizens who are directly or indirectly affected by this tragic event.”

The flags of Quebec and the City are also at half-mast.

“In these trying times, we all share the motto of the French Republic: Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité.”
