Books for baby: a program for little ones

The Pointe-Claire Library is pleased to provide families with the kit from the Books for Baby reading program, designed exclusively for babies.

An initiative of the Association des bibliothèques publiques du Québec (Quebec Public Library Association—ABPQ), the Perfect Little Reader Kit will be offered free of charge to parents who take out a membership for their child under the age of one at the Pointe-Claire Public Library. It is an additional tool to help children learn to read and acquire vocabulary and language from an early age.

The Pointe-Claire Library is pleased to include in the kit a copy of Leonard’s Composting Adventures, an imaginative picture book created by the City of Pointe-Claire to educate young people about environmentally friendly living habits.

The environment is also at the heart of the commemorative program One Birth, One Tree, which gives Pointe-Claire residents the opportunity to celebrate the arrival of their newborn by planting a tree in one of the city’s parks for free.
