Brussels attacks

City raises Belgian flag in solidarity

Expressing solidarity with the people of Belgium and compassion for victims and their families, the mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, Morris Trudeau, has ordered the Belgian national flag to be flown from City Hall’s main flagpole following today’s bomb attacks in Brussels.

“This symbolic gesture shows our solidarity with Belgium,” says the mayor. “We are deeply saddened by the acts of violence carried out this morning. Our thoughts go out to all citizens affected by these tragic events, either directly or indirectly.”

“In these painful moments, we send our condolences to the victims’ families. Let’s remember the Belgian motto, Union makes strength, at this time when we need to unite against violence.”
