Call for candidates to sit on the Planning Advisory Committee

The City of Pointe-Claire is currently seeking professional candidates for a two-year mandate on the Planning Advisory Committee (PAC), which is responsible for studying urban planning and design requests.

This committee plays a vital role in the evolution of the city in terms of architecture, planning, land development, and in ensuring compliance with the by-laws.

The PAC is a working group that includes residents and City Council members who meet every month to make recommendations regarding requests related to urban planning, architecture, minor variances and by-law amendments.

Candidates must have a keen interest in the City of Pointe-Claire, the quality of life that it offers its residents and the challenges of land use planning. Knowledge or expertise in a field related to land use development will be considered an asset, such as, but not limited to: architecture, construction, heritage conservation, environment and urban planning. Analytical skills and the ability to express and communicate opinions related to these fields will also be considered assets. Candidates must live in Pointe-Claire and be available to visit the projects presented at each meeting.

The deadline for submissions is March 27, 2019. Submissions must include a cover letter, an up-to-date résumé, and the candidate’s availabilities, and must be sent by email to rose-marie.couture@pointe-claire.ca.
