Cartier Avenue – Road work to be completed as soon as possible up to Salisbury Avenue
The City of Pointe-Claire would like to inform you that road work in progress on Cartier Avenue will be completed up to Salisbury Avenue as soon as possiblein order to restore normal traffic. The planned phases consist of completing the foundation of the road, paving the street, rebuilding the sidewalks, and installing signage.
The contractor is officially in default and will not complete the work. This situation is beyond our control. Consequently, the City has called upon the bond company provided for in the contract. The work will be completed by the contractor chosen by the bond company and at its expense.
The City of Pointe-Claire is working to speed up the project so that it resumes next week and to find ways to make access easier to commercial activities.
We will provide a more precise deadline as soon as a contract is signed with the bond company.
Mayor John Belvedere will meet the residents and merchants affected by the road work for a status report at the Beaconsfield Golf Club on Monday, December 4, at 7 p.m.
Thank you for your understanding.
