Earth Hour
Pointe-Claire is again part of the worldwide movement
The mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, John Belvedere, is proud to announce that the City will once again participate in Earth Hour, a global movement to raise awareness of the need to fight climate change and wildlife loss in communities throughout the world.
“On Satruday, March 30, residents are encouraged to take part by turning off all non-essential lights in their homes, as well as all electric and electronic appliances, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.,” stated Mayor Belvedere.
This initiative is designed to show us that simple everyday actions have an impact on our environment and global warming and allow us to reconnect with nature and celebrate the richness of biodiversity.
“In Pointe-Claire, the City’s electronic billboards, TV screens in municipal buildings, and lights in some municipal buildings will be turned off,” said Mayor Belvedere, who will be personally participating in the event.
