From February 29 to March 4: Exciting activities offered during March break

The mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, Morris Trudeau, invites residents to take advantage of the many activities organized by the City during spring break, from February 29 to March 4.

“We’re hoping a great many residents will participate,” says the mayor. “The City is offering both regular and thematic activities. It’s a great opportunity to have fun and meet new people, and who knows? you might discover something really exciting.”

The Library is organizing thematic workshops for kids ages 8 to 14, including a workshop on creating comic strips on Monday, February 29, starting at 2 p.m. A workshop where teens can learn to grow sprouts and make a delicious and nutritious salad will take place on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Registration is required for both of these activities. Two films will also be screened for family audiences, the first on Monday at 10:15 (in French) and Tuesday at 10:15 (in English), and the second on Friday at 6:30 p.m. (in English).

At the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre, a theatrical and musical performance for children ages 6 to 12, Stradivarius’ Secret (in English), will be presented on Wednesday, March 2, at 1:30 p.m. An artistic workshop for the whole family on the theme of the house of the future will be held on Sunday, March 6, at 1:45 p.m. Also on Sunday, March 6, a puppet show for children ages 3 to 8 called Le lapin qui voulait être roi will be presented at 3 p.m. by Théâtre La Simagrée (in French). Passes are required for these three activities and may be obtained at Stewart Hall.

The Aquatic Centre will add recreational swimming periods to its regular schedule. Monday to Friday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m., everyone will be able to enjoy the water.

Outdoor skating rinks will maintain their regular schedule. There will be public skating every day at the Arena, and shinny hockey for children under twelve and teenagers from Monday to Thursday at noon.

“Residents are invited to look at the detailed schedule of activities,” says Mayor Trudeau. “You’ll find it online at www.pointe-claire.ca. It’s a really varied program – we hope you’ll have fun with it!”
