Holiday season 2020 – Municipal department schedule

Following the announcement of new government guidelines, the City would like to inform you of its schedule for the Holiday season.

Municipal services will be maintained with reduced staff from December 17 to 23, 2020 and January 5 to 10, 2021, inclusively, with the exception of the Planning counter, which will be closed from December 17 to January 4, inclusively.

Since the government recommends reducing contact to limit the spread of the virus, citizens are encouraged to use the City’s website to obtain services, apply for permits, fill out requests or report a situation through the Voilà! Signalement app.

All administrative departments will be closed for the Holiday season from December 24, 2020 to January 4, 2021, inclusively. For any municipal emergency, contact the Inspection – Public Security Department at all times at 514-630-1234.

In accordance with health measures, sports are authorized under certain conditions. Citizens will be able to enjoy the city’s sports and recreational facilities during the Holidays.

For safety reasons due to the pandemic, it is important to reserve your time slot on the LUDIK platform before going to a facility.

Library and online activities

The contactless loan service at the Central Library and Valois Branch will be suspended from December 24 to 26, 2020 and from December 31, 2020 to January 2, 2021, inclusively. At all times, enjoy a wide range of digital resources on the Pointe-Claire Public Library portal.

Visit the Active at Home page of the City’s website for several online cultural, arts and sports activities.

Outdoor rinks

As soon as weather conditions permit, the ice rinks will be open. Note that an ice skating oval has been added at the corner of Cartier Avenue and Du Bord-du-lac – Lakeshore Road.

Due to the pandemic, the chalets will only be open for use of the washrooms. Skaters will have to put on their gear in their car or on the outdoor benches. A maximum of 25 people can be on the rink at the same time. Hockey is permitted, up to a maximum of eight players at a time. In the spirit of sportmanship of hockey played on outdoor rinks, we invite you to ensure that there is a rotation of all those interested in playing. Organized activities or group reservations are not permitted.

Before heading out, check the status of the skating rinks on the City’s Website.
