Information session on compostable materials

The City of Pointe-Claire is inviting residents to a public information meeting on managing compostable materials at home, to be held at City Hall on Monday, June 20, at 7 p.m.

Various topics will be addressed to demonstrate the importance of participating in this collection, to inform residents of the materials accepted and where they are taken, and to learn more about managing compostable materials in our kitchens and how to keep animals away and prevent odours.

“Our residents have actively participated in the compostable materials collection since 2008, which is something to be proud of,” says Mayor Trudeau. “Pointe-Claire is recognized for setting up this pioneering program that reflects our environmental awareness and commitment to sustainable development.”

Everyone benefits from these actions that help protect the environment and reduce the amount of residual materials ending up in landfills.

To make it easier for residents to collect their compostable materials on a daily basis, a kitchen cone is provided free of charge to residents with proof of address at the Public Works counter at City Hall (451 Saint-Jean Boulevard).

Everyone is invited to the public information meeting to learn all the details about the compostable materials collection. The meeting will be held at City Hall next Monday, June 20, at 7 p.m
