Inspections of the water system by the City of Montreal – Possible discoloured water in the area and a low water pressure

The City of Pointe-Claire wishes to inform you that the City of Montreal will be conducting inspections on the water system between April 4 and May 11. These short tests, which will take place at different times during the day, could result in a staining of the drinking water in this area as well as a drop in water pressure in the City between the western, northern and eastern city limits and Hymus Boulevard.

This discolouration results from pressure fluctuations in the drinking water supply system that cause mineral particles that are naturally stuck to the walls of the pipe to become detached. It is recommended to let the water run for a few minutes (about 10 to 15 minutes) until it is clear again before using it. The water remains drinkable unless specified otherwise.

Thank you for your understanding.
