Inventory of Seagrass Beds and Scientific Fishing as Part of the Environmental Impact Study
The City of Pointe-Claire informs you that an inventory of seagrass beds and scientific fishing are ongoing until September 27, as part of the environmental impact study preceding the shoreline stabilization work on Lake Saint-Louis. During this period, traffic will not be impeded.
Seagrass beds are plant formations made up of aquatic plants. They develop along the edges of lakes and in shallow waters and are essential for the aquatic ecosystem.
Scientific fishing is a method used to study fish populations and their environment. It allows for the collection of data on size, abundance, reproduction, and behavior of species.
Therefore, the inventory of seagrass beds and scientific fishing are analytical methods aimed at gathering data to better understand the natural ecosystem that makes up the shore of Lake Saint-Louis, specifically the aquatic fauna and flora.
Thank you for your cooperation.
