Invitation to attend public consultations on the future of Pointe-Claire Village

The Mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, John Belvedere, invites Pointe-Claire Village merchants and Pointe-Claire residents to attend public consultations on the future of Pointe-Claire Village, its Special Planning Program (SPP), and the Village Code.

“We want to make our Village a place that reflects who we are and help to protect, enhance, and harmoniously develop it on an economic, social, and residential level,” stated the mayor of Pointe-Claire, John Belvedere.

This process was implemented last summer following proposals to develop the Village Core. Faced with these challenges, as part of our vision focused on transparency, and in order to encourage residents to participate, the City has temporarily restricted new development projects in the Village to ensure they comply with the means and goals defined for the area.

The public consultations are conducted in a round-table format and are hosted by an expert in order to obtain as many comments as possible on the guidelines of the Pointe-Claire Village Special Planning Program and the intentions of the Village Code. The first public consultation was held in December, with around thirty people attending. Once the consultation process is complete, the comments that have been received will allow the experts to suggest recommendations.

Village residents can register for the following meeting:

These consultations will take place at the Noël-Legault Community Centre (245 Du Bord-du-Lac – Lakeshore Road).
