National francophone launch of the TD Summer Reading Club

The national francophone launch of the TD Summer Reading Club took place this Saturday, June 17, at the Central Library and the Valois branch. The club, which aims to promote the pleasure of reading and Canadian works, is open to children of all ages.

Author Mireille Messier was present to read her book Treasure, and to launch the Story Walk, located around the Library. A comic book workshop was offered by Julien Castanié, author and illustrator of the TD Summer Reading Club’s francophone comic strip.

If you’d like to register your child for the Summer Challenge, which runs from June 6 to August 23, in conjunction with the TD Summer Reading Club in Pointe-Claire, there’s still time.

As part of the Reading Club, your child will also have access to online activities such as: creating a virtual reading log, discovering electronic books and comics, voting in book duels, reading and writing jokes, watching videos hosted by authors and illustrators, writing book reviews, printing couloring pages and much more! To register, visit the Central Library or the Valois branch.
