National Public Works Week: Public Works Department recognized by the Canadian Public Works Association

The City of Pointe-Claire is very proud to announce that the Public Works Department has won the 2021 Canadian Public Works Association (CPWA) award for National Public Works Week. The award was presented at a virtual gala on October 12.

National Public Works Week was held from May 16 to 22. To mark the occasion, citizens had the opportunity to discover the work performed by the men and women who make up the various Public Works teams. Given the circumstances surrounding COVID-19, the teams reinvented the way they celebrate this annual event by offering virtual programming on social media and on the City’s website.

More than 77 different communications initiatives were carried out during Public Works Week, giving over 40,000 people a glance into the day-to-day reality of Public Works staff through infographics, ephemera, quotes, publications, digital posters, videos, a special column and photos. Several aspects of Public Works were covered, including the expertise needed to maintain the water supply system infrastructure, keep the municipal road network in good condition, ensure the health of the territory’s canopy and much more.

Several departments worked together to make the event a success: Public Works, Communications, Human Resources and Recreation all pitched in. Congratulations to all!
