National Seniors Day 2021 – Let’s celebrate their contribution
The City of Pointe-Claire is highlighting National Seniors Day to celebrate our seniors’ past and present contribution to the community. These women and men play a vital role in transmitting traditions, values and our history.
We can count on the commitment and generosity of seniors who are present and active in various spheres of activity: leisure, culture, the economy, volunteerism, as well as the workplace and many community groups and organizations.
Let’s take advantage of this day to highlight their contribution and show them our gratitude and appreciation. Why not take the time to visit a senior in your life?
This day is part of International Day of Older Persons, instituted by the United Nations General Assembly and celebrated around the world each year on October 1.
To mark this occasion, the City of Pointe-Claire invites everyone aged 60 and over who participates in an activity organized by the City between Sunday, October 3 to Saturday, October 9, to fill out a coupon, giving them a chance to win one of 32 gift certificates worth $50 to use in a boutique in Pointe-Claire.
Seniors will receive one coupon for every activity they participate in at the Senior Centre, the Aquatic Centre, the Bob-Birnie Arena, the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre and the Pointe-Claire Public Library. The more you participate, the more chances you have to win!
The draw will be held on Tuesday, October 12. The winners will receive a phone call.
Good luck to you all!
