National Seniors Day 2022 — Let’s express our gratitude
The City of Pointe-Claire is celebrating National Seniors Day to highlight seniors’ contribution to society, particularly to our community. They are essential in transmitting traditions, values and our history and have helped build who we are today. Seniors are present and active in our communities. We can count on their commitment and generosity in many spheres of activity, including leisure, culture, economy, volunteering and with many community groups and organizations.
Let’s take advantage of this day to thank them and highlight their contribution, to express our gratitude and appreciation to them.
National Seniors Day is part of the International Day of Older Persons established by the United Nations General Assembly and celebrated worldwide on October 1 each year.
For the occasion, on Friday, September 30, the Senior Centre organized an afternoon of activities. Members enjoyed tea time with dessert, accompanied by live music and poetry readings.
The City wishes to thank its seniors for their past and current contributions.
