New deadline: Become a member of the Environment and Sustainable Development Advisory Committee

There’s still time to apply! The City of Pointe-Claire is looking for residents interested in becoming members of the Environment and Sustainable Development Advisory Committee. This committee is a unique opportunity to take part in important decisions concerning the environment, sustainable development and the ecological transition of your City and community.

Not only is this two-year experience very interesting, but it also allows you to acquire in-depth knowledge of the environment and the initiatives of the City’s Strategic Plan for ecological transition and development. It also allows you to take part in the environmental changes taking place in your municipality.

The City of Pointe-Claire would like to inform you that the call for candidates for the Environment and Sustainable Development Advisory Committee is now open until May 17, 2024.

Any Pointe-Claire resident with a knowledge and passion for the environment and sustainable development can apply and make a difference in their community. This two-year mandate allows committee members to give their opinion and make recommendations to the Municipal Council on projects related to the environment and sustainable development.

Call for candidates: Advisory Committee on the Environment and Sustainable Development of the City of Pointe-Claire

The City of Pointe-Claire is currently seeking candidates to sit on its Environment and Sustainable Development Advisory Committee. The mandate of the working group, made up of citizens and members of the municipal council, will be to formulate opinions and recommendations to the municipal council on environmental and sustainable development issues, such as

  • Key environmental issues for the City and its community
  • Biodiversity preservation
  • Continuous improvement of quality of life as it relates to sustainable development

Candidates must demonstrate a keen interest in Pointe-Claire, its quality of life and the environmental challenges it faces. A good knowledge of Pointe-Claire and its living environment, as well as an understanding of the new climatic and environmental realities of daily life, are essential. Knowledge or expertise related to the environment and sustainable development is an asset. Strong analytical skills, an ability to express oneself and one’s opinions, as well as a good understanding of French and English, are also sought-after criteria.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Be residents of Pointe-Claire
  • Be available for a two-year term to attend committee meetings and visit certain sites, as required, depending on the issues under study.

The deadline to apply is April 28, 2024. Applications must include a cover letter with a brief reflection on the environment and sustainable development, an updated CV and the person’s availability.
