New online access to consult Demolition Committee documents

More transparent and democratic than ever

The mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, John Belvedere, is pleased to announce that, from now on, all documents related to a demolition request will be available on the City’s website to make them easier to consult, in a spirit of greater democratic transparency.

“This is one more step we’ve taken to simplify everyone’s lives and give our residents easy online access to Demolition Committee documents. This new gesture will help the City’s administration and public service management become more democratic,” explained Mayor John Belvedere.

The documents will be available on the City’s website in the new Demolition Committee section of the Planning Department, under the “For residents” tab.

Historically, residents could consult the documents related to these requests at the Planning Department’s offices at City Hall during opening hours.

“Now that these documents are online, those who want to consult demolition requests can do so easily, at any time, no matter where they are,” added Mayor Belvedere.

In compliance with the legal and professional obligations of the experts who produce the documents supporting demolition requests, the City is not liable for these reports produced by a third party, and the documents are made available online for easier consultation.

The mayor would like to remind residents that, to help make their lives easier, last year the City added the option of filing a demolition request for an immovable with or without a reutilization plan for the vacated land in order to reduce costs and process these requests faster for owners.
