New Special Planning Program – An enriched vision for Valois Village
The Mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, Morris Trudeau, is pleased to present the final version of the Special Panning Program (SPP) for Valois Village, which was adopted by City Council at its meeting yesterday. This updated reference document will guide the decisions related to future planning and sustainable development for the village core of the Valois neighbourhood.
“More than 150 years after the arrival of the first train in Valois, the Village has developed and consolidated its achievements while continuing to respect its history and identity. Everyone has had an opportunity to provide input concerning the planning and growth of this business-friendly neighbourhood dedicated to urban living,” noted Mayor Trudeau.
After the preliminary version of the SPP was adopted, an appeal was made to the community and a public consultation was held in February to allow everyone to express their opinions on the overall vision of the project.
The SPP will be used as a reference for implementing the planning vision in order to create a friendly and vibrant living environment that continues to be safe and accessible. Our goal remains the establishment of a distinct visual identity and the strengthening of the Village’s attractiveness as a commercial destination of choice.
“We have made every endeavour to give residents a voice in this evolving process. The vision we have for Valois Village remains one to which everyone needs to contribute so that it can become our shared reality,” said Mayor Trudeau in conclusion.
The SPP for Valois Village is available on the Planning page of the City’s web site.
